This morning I finished a story I’ve been working on since May! I submitted it to an intimidating place that won’t accept it … but they say life happens where you show up, right? I got my money’s worth out of my morning.
Here are some other places where I showed up lately -- where others had showed up before me:
Wooden disks for sale at Menards. Aren’t they beautiful?
I make my morning oatmeal out of whatever looks likely and needs to be eaten. Which is how last week I glanced down and said to myself, “I bet I am the only person in America this morning who is eating sweet potato grape oatmeal.”
I bet the guy who owns this car feels the same.
Wandered through St. Vincent’s. The person who originally bought these shoes showed up in her life!
These guys were in a bag marked $2, but I used my discount and got them for $1.84. They are attending church with me Oct 29, when I preach the sermon as well as a “story for all ages” time. I’ll use them in the kid part, but I bet adult would enjoy finger puppet action in any average sermon. Will have to think about that.
I like October. Something about me that is NOT unique.
When I started this walk, it wasn’t raining. When I was two miles from home, it started to pour. I was wearing a baseball hat; brim of the hat kept rain off my glasses and face. My thrifted jacket proved to be (lo and behold!) waterproof. Walking back home in the rain was comfortable. I swear I thought for twenty minutes about how life is not yes or no, good or bad, possible or impossible – but just – do you have the tools you need? While I was walking, this seemed very deep. Not so sure now.
The Morning Glory who showed up and gave its blue to the sky.
